Clutches free upstaged
So, I recently watched _Blind Side_ for the first time the other night (don`t ask me why!), the film that Sandra Bullock took the Oscar for, this spring, and I spotted that I missed speaking about the handbags at the Oscars at the time. I wrote this piece on Bullocks` style (I love her down to earth look), but I didn`t speak about what bags the ladies were toting on the red carpet.
Oscars Revisited
For starters, I`m ashamed to say it, but I have no Idea what Sandra`s carrying in that above shot. Can somebody help me identify it?

Here are a few notable style choices from the 2010 Academy Awards Ceremony and after party. I`d make the case the Judith Leiber and Salvatore Ferragamo stole the show.
Ladies on the Red Carpet and Their Clutches
I`ve spent a long while this morning pouring through red carpet images from the Oscars. And, I must say, it was a nice year for red carpet style (with the notable exception of Mariah Carey`s requisite gaudiness…search for it in case you need to see what I`m speaking about). The overwhelming trend in red carpet handbags is the matching clutch this is case every year. The ladies go all out on fascinating designer dresses and then discover a simple, tasteful matching clutch to compliment.

I`m going to start with my fave look from one of my fave ladies. According to yours truly, Kate Winslet is a style goddess and an outright megababe. She has always looked amazing (see 1995s _Sense and Sensibility _for a sexy period Kate) and they is aging with impeccable grace. This look Yves Saint Laurent gown with matching silver satin YSL clutch is picture ideal.

Here`s an up-and-comer who made a splash. Anna Kendrick looks absolutely stunning in her pink Elie Saab Couture gown and complimentary Judith Leiber clutch. Judith Leiber clutches were a large hit this year (see Katy Perry below). Kendrick`s amazing performance in _Up in the Air _bodes well for future Oscar appearances for this young beauty.
Are you able to think that Demi Moore is 47?! Definitely not from this picture! Demi Moore gets better with age. They looks amazing and her fashion sense has grown increasingly astute as they spends year after year in the spotlight. Her Salvatore Ferragamo clutch is my pick for the most elegant purse at the Oscars this year.

All right so, don`t like Katy Perry. I with that I Kissed a Girl faux-lesbian rubbish had never hit the airwaves and, most of the time, I think that her style borders a small close to a trailer-trash look for my taste. But, there`s something about this look taken from the Oscars Vogue after party this is strangely compelling. Her flashy dress somehow works (the amazing cleavage definitely helps) looks elegant on her. And, her Judith Leiber clutch is a cherry on top of the vibrant, delectable cake. Well done!

All right, so I must admit that _Blind Side _didn`t do it for me. Most of this has to do with my hatred for footy after watching all those dreamy soccer lads on the pitch in the work of the World Cup…Yum! I don`t understand why so plenty of people love American Footy and why there’s so plenty of dull movies about it. Either way, Bullock did perform well in the film and kudos to her for using it as a vehicle for an Oscar. It`s about time the Academy rewarded her for such a brilliant career. Now, if somebody can tell me what her clutch is!
